Book Therapy
This is a method which is used in working with children in kindergarten and preschool. It is performed by reading the children fairy tales or providing them with individual reading materials.
  • Fairytales provide new knowledge about the world and people in it- helps in understanding people’s attitudes and behaviors
  • Help in understanding oneself and the world – a fairy tale offers form and structure, and shows the norms and rules that govern it; a structured and predictable picture of the world builds a sense of security
  • Teach us to follow a moral code and encourages moral actions – in fairy tales the world is fair and governed by clear rules; nobility is rewarded
  • Help in solving personal problems and difficult situations
  • Release tensions
  • Treat undesirable mental states, such as anxiety, low self-worth, loneliness, boredom, and apathy
  • Help children in dealing with the emotions that arise as a result of adverse events and sensitize to aesthetic experiences
  • Help children to accept their strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop imagination, relaxation, excitement
